This course is suitable for web designers, producers, or anyone else who wishes to develop a greater understanding of the skills necessary to shoot professional DV footage.

Course Content:
The course begins with a review of current DV formats. Students will then be taken through all
the basic features of a digital video camera, including zoom, focus, white balance, gain and shutter speed functions.
They will also learn how to use the menu features to their advantage.
They will learn how to select and use the correct microphone for any situation.
Basic lighting principles are also covered, as well as a session on lighting without lights.
Students will be shown the importance of shot sequencing and learn the production techniques used in professional video production.
The course includes a variety of practical exercises. The presentation is informal and can be varied to meet individual needs.
